Heir of Fire 🔥
I never saw myself cheering for wyverns and iron witches, but here we are…
Oh, you didn’t know there were flower smelling dragons in the Throne of Glass series? Yeah… same.
I honestly don’t even know where to begin—I’m still seeing stars after that ending. ✨
This book was so, so, so, sooooo damn good. One of my favorite things about the way Miss Sarah J. Maas writes is her unconventional way of introducing characters—then making you YEARN to know more about them. Where did they go? What happens next?! And somehow, she keeps you hooked while leading you through another completely gripping storyline. At this point, you just want to buckle up and hang on because it. gets. wild. 😮💨📖
The book begins with Celaena in Wendlyn, sent on a mission by the King of Adarlan to eliminate the ruling king and prince. That focus doesn’t last long, though, because she quickly realizes she’s being tailed. Enter Rowan, an immortal fae warrior bound by a blood oath to serve Maeve, Queen of the Fae. Celaena soon learns that no matter how skilled she is as an assassin, it doesn’t come close to centuries of battle experience. Now, she finds herself on a journey with a powerful fae warrior to face her estranged aunt, the Queen of the Fae… 👀👑
And that’s just the beginning—this book only gains momentum from there, proving yet again how brilliant and immersive Maas is as a writer.
We’re also introduced to Manon Blackbeak, an iron witch unlike any other. And listen—I have to be honest—Manon is easily one of my favorite characters in the entire series. 🖤 She’s ruthless, ambitious, and determined to take the top seat, no matter the cost. She inspires me in a way I didn’t expect.
Now, let’s talk emotions… because this book absolutely wrecked me. 😭
There’s a scene that had me sobbing—like ugly crying, unable to catch my breath.
“Fireheart… why do you cry?”
“Because I am lost,” she whispered onto the earth. “And I do not know the way.”
This moment shattered me. 💔 I related so deeply to her hopelessness, that feeling of being completely lost with no idea which way to go next. This book dragged me down into my emotions hard—only to pull me right back into the light of hope.
This series is multi-dimensional and truly magical. ✨
As a woman who has experienced a lot of what these books depict, it’s refreshing to find a series that doesn’t shy away from hardship. Instead, it takes the character through it, letting us witness the powerhouse she becomes. 💪 Celaena’s resilience is so inspiring. Honestly, reading this series has even shifted my own attitude—I feel more determined, more aggressive in going after what I want, not in a way that forces others, but in my own energy.
If you’ve experienced real darkness at the hands of others, Heir of Fire will hit differently. It’s satisfying in ways that reality often isn’t—where, let’s be real, many of the worst people walk away with zero accountability. Not in this book. Oh no. Actions have consequences. And it is so. damn. satisfying. 😤🔥
This book gave me everything I wanted from this series, and I’m already five chapters into Queen of Shadows! 👑
✨ This is your sign—READ Throne of Glass! ✨
