**Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.**
This. Book. Was. So. Damn. Good. 🤩
Okay – Listen.
I will be the first to admit, I **LOVE** me some Celaena Sardothien. This woman is everything I wish I could be in the reality we currently see playing out. 😏✨
In a world of… a **FEW** powerful men making choices that affect entire countries with the swiftness of a blade… ⚔️ This constant pull of give and take with the powers that be is not new on any account, but it is nice to see a story tell a similar tale. Instead of feeling absolutely powerless, you find yourself fighting against that very evil and not just fighting against it… but **winning**. 👑
That is how you will feel when you read *Crown of Midnight* by Sarah J. Maas. 📚
The story begins where *Throne of Glass* left off…
Celaena is now officially the King’s Champion – his assassin on call. But things are not at all as they seem, and the deeper Celaena falls into the throes of the castle, the more she is forced to uncover. There are twists and turns in this book that will have you unable to stop reading. (I literally read this in one day. 😱) The depth in which SJM has built this world is nothing short of art. 🎨
The different layers of the story, the depth of the characters, and the historical backgrounds of them all are pure creative genius captured on the pages, filling out a world that makes it truly impossible to let go and walk away. 🌍💖
We see Celaena shine in all her girlish charm at the beginning of the book when she takes advantage of her newly made blood money and shows us what being a girl without borders could possibly feel like. 👗💎
Because let’s face it… how many of us are REALLY given free reign to spend without limits? 💅 I love living vicariously through her feminine and eloquent existence.
I love that even though she is the world’s greatest assassin, she still falls into a total chokehold over a gown and matching jewelry. 👑✨ As the story continues, we see in so, so many ways how and why Celaena is the ultimate girl’s girl—a true friend you’d want on your side! 💕
There are several new characters that make their way into the book and into our hearts. ❤️ The plot was so beyond engaging. It was downright addicting and unsafe for anyone who needs an attention span outside of this book. (Fyi, good luck with that once you crack this book open. 😂)
One of my favorite things about this series so far is both Chaol and Dorian. They are such strong examples of healthy masculine men, and again… in the world we currently reside in… that is something I truly look forward to in these books. Their steadfast need to stay loyal and true to Celaena… The lengths at which they will go to protect her. That energy will call me back time and time again. 🔥 I truly did not see myself falling **SO HARD** for Chaol, but he was unwavering with his support, and what can I say…
That shit makes a girl **SWOON** 😍
I didn’t expect the magic end of things to sneak up so beautifully in this book, but it did… in such a momentous and perfect way. ✨
I think some of SJM’s other series may be a bit more… romantic than this series… There has been romance trickled into the book, but nothing that would be considered smut. That may change, but from what I’ve read, I wouldn’t call this book overly smutty in any way. 😉
**Spicy Level** still stays at a **1**. 🌶️
Overall, this entire series has me in a freakin' chokehold, and now that I have written my review, I get to reward myself by starting *Heir of Fire*… Here’s to hoping I can make it last longer than a day… 📖💨
If anyone wants to sponsor my book habit, feel free to send me a message. LOL (I am only sort of joking). 😜
